My initial reflection on teaching Grade 2 Filipino was highly reactionary. After almost a month of handling said class, I realize that while I still am not entirely comfortable with it, I no longer violently hate it.
I’ve learned a few things from my colleagues that I hope will guide me in my class, but I’m going to have to be creative because I don’t want to merely mirror what my colleagues are doing especially if what they normally do just really isn’t my style.
There lies my challenge now.
Well, that and knowing how to explain Filipino diphthongs.
