Why do children die?

This week is a sad one for us. One of our students passed away earlier this week, and we were hit with a stone wall of shock and grief. We knew she was sick, yet we all hoped and continued to pray that she would get better sooner than later. It was not meant to be that way, though.

These things happen, right? But the question is: WHY? Isn’t the natural order of things for children to grow up and to live their lives and contribute to society and the world and then die at the ripe old age of a gazillion? How come children have to get sick and leave us? That simply is not acceptable.

I cannot even begin to fathom what the family must be going through now, but I pray that they find peace.
