2017, for me, is the year of endings.

My relationship ended abruptly.

My passion for my work has seen its end.

The school year has ended and, along with it, time with friends and colleagues who have chosen to leave.

My student permit for driving is about to expire in a few days, and I still don’t have my license (hoping to change that tomorrow, though).

My second shot at the ADE program ended.

My laptop is dying, and I can’t afford a new one any time soon.

2017 has basically been a crap year so far, and I have to consciously and regularly remind myself that EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

I look at this picture, and I remind myself that if I want to see the good left in this world and in this life, all I need to do is look up.

  1. For a lot of people 2016 was a crap year. Hang in there; it does get better! I’m sorry you’ve had a hard time of it in the first three months of 2017, but you’re right – “if I want to see the good left in this world and in this life, all I need to do is look up.”

  2. Hugs. We all go through bad times, and believe it or not they do pass. Looking up is the best way to think positive, but remember, the onus is on you. The way you see yourself goes a long way toward the way others see you. Believe in yourself. Find me here. LINK

  3. Such a beautiful photo Reeyah! How could one’s heart not be lifted – but it certainly sounds like the beginnings of this year have been clearly difficult as if a tsunami has come your way with all those endings. I guess having extra ‘time’ re friends colleagues being away could be cause for pause and to wonder how you could use this time more on your own to re-assess everything? Some R&R as well? And don’t rush. Looking up is good – what is more lovely than the stars and/or trees, & looking down is also good, at the ground beneath your feet …
